To create a beautiful wedding reception that your family and friends will remember for many years to come, create unique and interesting centerpieces. With the right materials, you can turn an ordinary table into a refreshing and colorful place for your guests to sit. As you will see from the options below, achieving this is neither difficult nor expensive.
Use candles, which make a wonderful centerpiece. You can purchase squares of beveled mirrors from hobby stores. Place these in the center of the table sprinkle each with a little bit of sand, and then place pillar candles of varying sizes and colors on the glass. The glow of the flame, with or without the sand makes a sophisticated appearance.
Another great idea is to use beautiful glass blows filled with beaded or sequined fruit. If you cannot find these already made, you can purchase the foam fruit shapes from your local hobby story and then add the beads, pearls, stones, sequins, or whatever you like on your own. Simply choose colors that will enhance the wedding and you have a gorgeous arrangement.
Check around for inexpensive breadbaskets and then fill them with freshly baked breads of varying types. For instance, you can fill the baskets with warm pumpernickel, rye, potato, or other types of breads. Then around the base of the baskets, have small glass containers filled with regular and warm, honey butter.
If you were planning to have a beach wedding, you can take simple glass bowls, filling them with white or colored sand. On top, place a sand dollar and then place smaller shells around the base.
If your wedding and reception are black-tie and very formal, purchase miniature candelabras, placing them in the center of each table with lit candles in colors to match your wedding colors.
If your wedding will be during the fall, choose colorful leaves taken off trees around where you live or you can buy them from hobby stores. Create a flat bed of varying colors and then on top of them, place one pumpkin, real or fake, in the center that is about eight inches in size. Next to the large pumpkin, place two smaller pumpkins. If you have time, you can purchase fall silk flowers that have rich colors and glitter to place in between the three pumpkins.
