Most couples getting married think of the reception as a time of eating cake, tossing the bouquet, the removal of the garter, dining on good food, and dancing to live music or a DJ. While a reception does in fact include all of these factors, there is another aspect that is often overlooked or simply not known reception games.
One of the games that people are aware of in most cases is the tradition of tapping the plate or glass with a fork to get the bride and groom to kiss. This tradition has been around for a long tme and it is fun but because there is no control over how often the glass is tapped, it can become annoying to the newly married couple. Therefore, if you want games that are less traditional and ones that have a little more control, you might consider some of the following:
Golf Game Choose one area of the reception hall where you can set up a miniature putting green. Then, if the guests want the couple to kiss, then they must get a hole in one. To create a little more fun and make the game more challenging, you can position the putting start in different locations and at different angles.
Demonstration Game Again, to get the bride and groom to kiss, another couple has to put on a demonstration on how they want the couple to kiss. This game is actually quite fun and gets other guests involved.
Riddle Game With this game, if someone at the reception wants the bride and groom to kiss, then that individual must answer a riddle asked by the DJ or the person that will be serving as the emcee.
Song Game In this case, the person wanting the couple to kiss would be required to sing an entire verse, correctly, with the word love included
Who Wants to See a Million Dollar Kiss Link Game Based on the famous television show Who wants to be a millionaire, the entire group of guests can get involved with this game. In this case, for a question to be answered, all guests at the table have to stand up and say, We want to play. From there, the emcee will ask a trivia question about the newly married couple, giving four possible answers. The guests at the table playing will discuss and then provide the answer. If they were right, then the bride and groom kiss, whether just blowing them at each other or actually laying on a serious kiss.
Now in this game, the table of guests would have three lifelines, a 50/50 chance where the remaining guests are polled, and an opportunity to ask a friend. If all of the lifelines are used, the table loses.
